Event Hire

Over the years, The Ellesmere Suite has played host to hundreds of different functions for private and corporate customers alike. We pull out all the stops to make sure your event is a memorable one for you and your guests.


We are a fully-licenced and affordable wedding venue nestled in the very heart of Leigh, providing you with plenty of space to make the day your own. We have a ceremony room upstairs with an adjoining bar and lounge, as well as a large event hall downstairs for your reception or evening do. We offer an all-in-one package to anybody celebrating their wedding day with us, including in-house catering. If there’s anything we can’t provide ourselves, we have a network of trusted local vendors that we can connect you with.

Private Parties

The Ellesmere Suite offers a large event space, capable of hosting as many as 150 people. The main hall includes an adjoining bar with space for a buffet provided by our in-house catering team. We can configure the tables and chairs in whatever way suits you best, making it perfect for any kind of celebration, from birthdays, engagements, and anniversaries to barmitzvahs, retirements, work events, and more. There’s plenty of room for any entertainment you want to book, and we have a network of local suppliers to help you with decorating the room, hiring a DJ, or booking a singer or musical act.

Corporate Events

If you’re running a business event in Leigh, we have two options available for you. There’s the main hall, which is ideal for larger events such as conferences and business expos. The massive area can be arranged to maximise space for vendors and delegates, and it is fitted with plenty of power outlets for your convenience. For smaller events such as workshops and coaching sessions, we have our upstairs conference room with an adjoining lounge, suitable for breakout sessions.

Our Location

The Leigh Masonic Hall is a large, historic building, right in the heart of the town centre. It is easy for your guests to get to and from, benefiting as it does from great transport links. These include a taxi rank directly outside the building and a bus station on the opposite side of the road.

Leigh Masonic Hall

The building itself is a purpose-built home for the Freemasons and is reserved specifically for Masonic lodges and events. It’s a beautiful and traditional building, filled with history, and set up for meetings of our craft and chapter lodges.

A Community Venue

Leigh Masonic Hall and the Ellesmere Suite are run by a lovely, local, and supportive team on behalf of the Freemasons. Honest, dedicated, and charitable people, we are here to support and serve our local community in any way we can. Lots of local clubs meet at the hall, and we support many local charities and causes through our fundraising efforts.

Our Services


Here at the Ellesmere Suite, we have our own in-house team of professional caterers, all of whom specialise in catering for large events. Whether you prefer a sit-down meal or a buffet, we have a variety of menus and food packages to choose from that will suit any event or budget. All our food is cooked fresh on the premises using locally sourced ingredients from trusted suppliers. We can tailor most of our dishes to meet your specific needs and offer alternative meals to cover most dietary restrictions.


In addition to our in-house catering team, we also have a friendly and professional front-of-house staff. They will serve drinks behind the bar, wait on tables during your sit-down meal, and be on hand to assist you and your guests with any issues you might have during the event.

Supplier Network

We want to make sure that you have everything you need to make your event go off without a hitch. While we can provide you with a first-class venue, delicious food, a fully-stocked bar, and friendly staff, even we have our limits. Fortunately, we also have a network of trusted local suppliers with whom we can put you in touch. They handle everything from decorating the room to booking photographers, DJs, and live musical acts. The Venue


Main Hall

The newly refurbished main hall is a large and versatile space that can be tailored to meet the specific requirements of your event. There are plenty of tables and seating that we can arrange into whichever configuration suits you best. The room is brightly lit, fully air-conditioned, and even has its own annexed bar to keep your guests well refreshed.


Main Bar

Set just off the main hall, the main bar is easily accessible by your guests. It is well-stocked with an extensive selection of beers, ciders, lagers, wines, and spirits, as well as soft drinks. With plenty of space available, it’s a popular place to serve any kind of buffet away from the hustle and bustle of the main hall. The bar also includes ample seating for anyone who wants a quiet few minutes apart from the festivities.


Lounge and Suite

There is a separate suite upstairs at the Leigh Masonic Hall, with its own bar and lounge annex. This forms part of our all-in-one wedding package, where it serves as the ceremony room, but it can also be hired out on its own. It’s ideal for conferences and corporate events, as well as private functions, with plenty of space available for you and your guests. The lounge itself has seating booths and tables, as well as a snooker table in the adjoining room.
